Posted by New Flyer #857 on Wed Mar 18 12:46:56 2015 Feel free to add to or comment on either of these lists.Bus Beats Light-Rail 1) Vehicles can pass each other. 2) Vehicles can detour easily. 3) No wires hanging over roadways. 4) Usually simpler fare payment / enforcement procedures 5) No need for elaborate stops/stations, just a marker sign Light-Rail Beats Bus 1) Longer vehicles without added employees 2) No need to check clearance when making turns 3) Quieter 4) Smoother ride, especially with cobblestone streets and such 5) Easier to predict scheduling |
