And if East River Bride tolls are put in place, you are saying hte subways wouldn't become more crowded? I know a bus every 30 minutes through the Battery Tunnel should be able to handle all the extra traffic. Wasn't that the MTA's plan last time? They didn't even offer to add any more trains if I remember correctly. The fact is more trains are needed today (and there is room in the shoulder periods because we are running less trains today than in the 1960s) and they are not being run.

The MTA chairman said it himself that he remembers when you couldn't get into the first Lex express during rush hours, and now you have to miss four trains to get on. So how many will you have to miss when more are diverted from cars to the trains?
