Posted by Andy on Sun Mar 1 19:09:02 2015 March 1, 1968: The Metropolitan Transportation Authority becomes the parent agency for NYC Transit Authority, MABSTOA, Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority, and Long Island RR. It was created by NY State law as an expansion of the 1966 Metropolitan Commuter Transportation Authority, which was originally established to own and operate the LIRR. |
