I rode then from time to time from Oyster Bay & Montauk & they had a very bouncy ride, especially, over grade crossings. Often wondered if they bounced so high & just luckily the truck landed right on the rails on the way down. They had a "feel" about them thats missing from todays trains, like the sound of the brakes applying with the shoes squealing & hissing, or the buffer plates crunching together with every bounce. Little things that moved over for progress. I guess.
