Unless they're also going to abandon the Oyster Bay line I'm pretty sure they'll be getting new engines.I swear, in my drunker moments, the LIRR runs to Oyster Bay (beyond Glen Cove) are just a state subsidy to avoid running buses from Hicksville to Oyster Bay. One of my former coworkers lives there, and it was the only way in and out of the place when she couldn't drive to work that didn't involve paying for a taxi. Otherwise, you'd probably get away with another parking lot at Hicksville for TOBAY residents to cater to the Oyster Bay riders in the village... |
