edf40wrjww2msgDetail:detailStr fiogf49gjkf0d Since this was observed, we know why the car was there; it's not like it was abandoned.
We seem to know:
She was either moving or stopped when the gate came down on her car
Therefore the train was nearby or the gate wouldn't have hit her car
She ignored that the train was evidently coming soon and got out to look at her car
She got back in her car, appeared to put her seat belt on, and moved forward.
She was 49 years old and a resident of the area, meaning she would have been familiar with what other vehicle goes over grade crossings besides cars. If she was 16 with a learner's permit and daddy's new car, a little more irrationality might be suspected.
The rest is silence, as far as she is concerned.
What I don't know is (has any of this been reported yet?):
How she came to be in her initial position, where the gate could hit her
Why she would worry about looking at her car when a train was coming
Why she would get BACK into the car
And think she had time to clear the crossing going forward
Was she on a cell phone? Was she having a medical emergency?
