The were a whole multitude of problems that were discussed to death at that time (here and on many other forums). Many of those problems (not just the media issue and other things I brought up) have since been adjusted to avoid a repeat of what happened in 2010 from happening.The point is, Cuomo in my view likely overstepped on fears something would go wrong and it would torpedo a Presidentiial bid in 2020 or '24. no matter how slim in reality that is. In the process, he violated rule #1 of politics in that you NEVER PISS OFF WALL STREET and now that is likely to come back to bite him in ways he never imagined. especially if it puts other potential Democratic candiates for various offices in jeopardy for 2016 because Wall Street will look for Republicans beyond what they normally do to take it out on Cuomo and send a message to him. If I'm at the DNC, I make it clear to Cuomo he is NEVER to do it again outside of an Irene/Sandy situation because of the potential fallout that goes way beyond him. |
