This clearly was to me Cuomo fearful an MTA screwup would jeopardize a 2020 or 2024 Presidential bid because rival candidates would use an MTA screwup against Cuomo in attack ads even if it would be nearly a full decade later. Most people would only see that the MTA screwed up on his watch and not get into the full details and Cuomo knows that.Politics really are that cutthroat now that Cuomo was likely thinking of that scenario 9-10 years out. |
