It will be MSG's 50th anniversary in couple of years - in many ways, it qualifies itself for some kind of Landmark Designation!This from the official NYC Landmarks Commission site: 1. What does it mean when a building is given landmark status? It means your building has special historical, cultural, or aesthetic value to the City of New York, state or nation, is an important part of the City's heritage and that LPC must approve in advance any alteration, reconstruction, demolition, or new construction affecting the designated building. I don't know about anyone else, but I certainly think it qualifies on the first two points alone... |
