Yes, but I don't think that would have been acceptable to Gulf + Western, who owned MSG and the Knicks and Rangers at that time.And the old MSG could have actually continued for quite some time after the new one opened as mainly a concert venue that seated 12-14,000 and as a backup arena in case of playoff conflicts with other events at the current MSG. |
