I used to see the little sign when I walked down to work at the Javits Center. Getting off the train, you would sometimes hear an announcement that the train was going to "the yards" or the "West Side Yards", but never ever heard the full name. Which is in line with most of what we all have said, to us, it is still 6th Ave, Triboro Bridge, Interborough, Battery Tunnel, 59th Street/Queensboro Bridge, ad infinitum. And probably always will be! |
