Anytime something is postponed to some time “later on” it never happens. Best to rebuild it for subway operation right away if it gets built at all. Apparently passenger traffic under LIRR mgmt wasn’t sufficient for the railroad to retain it which is why it was planned for the city to take it over almost as soon as the IND was built. |
