It's a 4-track line. You would largely eliminate the existing Harlem locals and run most Westchester/CT trains via the express tracks.Having been a regular rider of Harlem Line locals from 2004 through 2006, I can assure you that those trains are far less than a quarter of all the trains between Melrose and Woodlawn. Eliminate them and there is no way to run the remaining trains on 2 tracks. Also, Fordham is an important stop for NH Line and Harlem express trains. You could give Fordham center island platforms, but that would create additional problems. |
