I had a valid NJ drivers license, but I wasn't 18, so I couldn't drive in NYC in 1966. As I told you before, I stayed with my great-aunt on Marginal Street east- the one block continuation of New Jersey Ave that deadended at the Highland Blvd overpass. I took the Jamaica el to 168th St, and caught the old Q-17A bus to St John's Univ on the Utopia Pkwy side. I always got on the el at Alabama Ave and, believe me, you could not miss that crane!
