Like I said, Fantasy Football drives a TON of what you see now:This week starts the playoffs for most fantasy leagues because they want to have such wrapped up if possible next week or if not then no later than the following week because they want to avoid a situation in Week 17 where there are a ton of games involving teams that have already clinched playoff berths and are resting players or games that are meaningless and (as is the case with teams already in the postseason) are being played by a lot of second stringers. Same is true for leagues that try to be finished before Week 16 if possible due to wanting to avoid a lot of games that are meaningless. And as for "The Walking Dead," that show has a massive following not seen since "The Sopranos" and is one of the only shows that does well against the NFL ("Dancing With The Stars" does well opposite NFL games as well, but in that case it's the same company in Disney airing BOTH on Mondays between ABC and ESPN). |
