No, but the fact that belief in gods predates any meaningful understanding about how the world works without ever being confirmed by such understanding is evidence that it doesn't. The fact that we are instinctively predisposed to believe that even if it's false is evidence that it doesn't. The fact that consciousness and intelligence appear as an emergent property of particular chemical reactions occurring in a chunk of meat that can only occur under limited circumstances is evidence that it doesn't. And, more generally, the fact that there is a complete absence of the evidence we'd expect to find if a deity did exist is evidence that it doesn't.So I think this one counts as settled. |
