I do not think they should spend money on this. Of course I value human life above all else. But given the different car models used, combined with the maintenance issues that would sure arise with platform doors, I could foresee a lot of problems.I've seen platform doors in action on airport tramways. Ugh. it takes them longer just to open that it takes for a #2 or #3 to change passenger loads completely during rush hour at Times Square. If they DO insist on this foolishness, they'll at least need to find a way to speed it up... |
