The environmentalists stopped that one due to the possibility of some rare species of birds being deprived of their home. Birds and other animals are smarter than many humans and they would simply have relocated to either side of the completed parkway like the residents of Bay Ridge did when the access road to the V/N bridge was built through their neighborhood. |
