And this is a discussion board. Within the bounds of mutual respect, as I extend to you now, we can all post whatever train fantasy we want...We can? Oh goody! Let's rebuild the 3rd Avenue el, then run it across the Brooklyn Bridge and up Myrtle and Lexington. Let's build a tunnel from Staten Island to Bay Ridge and run a Staten Island super-express (that will also benefit Bay Ridge riders). Let's run LIRR trains to the Rockaways and not care what the FRA thinks! Alleviate crowding at Penn Station by terminating some peak trains at Chambers Street. And then we'll build a big freight tunnel underneath Manhattan equipped with pneumatic tubes that unload passing trains and whisk everything straight to its destination so we don't need any trucks on the streets. OK that's enough for now. |
