The idea that a freight train takes 48 hours to travel 300 miles (that's 6,25MPH) is a disgrace. Before building the tunnels (which I support) the Poughkeepsie Bridge should be rebuilt and reclaimed for rail. If trains were operated by some COMPETENT RR the time from Oak Island/or whatever north Jersey point where the unit stack trains tie up to a new container ramp on LI should be more like overnight for morning delivery. |
