He's of the persuasion that if you have the nerve to speak out on your beliefs, you must be evil or think those you speak out against are evil.No, but if you explicitly state: "Gay people are evil!" then you probably believe gay people are evil. It's ironic, as liberals claim to be for free speech and equality, and so forth, yet are the first to want to squash speech of those they don't agree with, or throw out extreme accusations of those they don't agree with you are right calling him bongo. Where have I done any of those things? The problem is that most conservatives really don't understand what free speech actually means. Freedom of speech means you can say what you like without fear of censorship— it doesn't mean that you are exempt from criticism, or from people forming their own opinions about what you said. So what you meant to say was: It's ironic. Liberals are for free speech and equality, and so forth, yet conservatives claim it's hypocritical for the advocates of free speech to speak freely. |
