The original plan was a wider Dey passage with a wall down the middle for in and out of fare control.In the first round of cost cutting, the passage was narrowed and the decision was made to integrate the passage with the WTC (and WFC) and retail aspect of Fulton Center rather than the subway stations. There are plenty of pros and cons depending on your perspective. The underground connection to PATH, including a new entrance at 2 WTC on Vessey near Church, should be open in the next 6 weeks, providing an exit at the west end. I agree signage should be better, and I think they should have kept the passage closed until the exit via the WTC is open. |
