I'll tell you whats really confusing now about the R— and that is exiting to the street at Cortlandt St from a downtown train. I was at the back of train yesterday when I got off at Cortlandt and used the northern most stairs. When you get to the bottom of the stairs, the turnstiles are right in front of you. Since I was trying to get to the street I naturally assumed I should pass through them. However, as soon I as did I realized that I was supposed to stay within fare control and go up the stairs to the uptown platform in order to exit onto Church St. As I had already left fare control, and there were no other stairs to the street, I was forced to use the Dey St passageway and go all the way up to Broadway to exit only to walk back down Dey on street level to get to BPC. |
