It may make sense to remove the trains as much as possible from that scene, rather slow the trains down to intolerable time lengths, and train bunching. Again from the MTA-website descriptions, I also was not sure if the D & N trains are making local stops or not. If the D & N are making the local stops your suggestion makes sense. All in all - I think we agree that the MTA could do something to reduce the long wait times between the trains, complete the track work, and not screw up travel for R-train riders (over all) as much as possible.
