Probably true, but alas, was not. So the question is, do you go forward, discard an existing right of way and convert to subway, or is it easier to extend a transit line coming in, that is vaguely compatible?

The question for me is, how much work is needed to convert the SRT to the Crosstown specs. I know the track would need to change gauge from Toronto gauge to North American standards. (I assume the SRT is using goofy Toronto gauge). I know the concrete sidewalls are scoped for a train uniquely sized like the SRT cars. And no one makes cars the proper size these days to fit.
