Up until the early 1950's traditional equipment was used: coaches, lunch counter-diner, coach-observation, etc. In 1953-54, 14 "Big Dome" coach-lounge cars were purchased by the Sante Fe. The Big Domes remained part of the El Cap for two years. In 1956 the train was re-equipped with 47 Hi-Level cars. In 1964, 68 more Hi-Level cars were purchased. |
