Try and get a hold of Roger Arcaras two tapes, one on the sixth & ninth ave. els + old brooklyn els. the 6th & 9th portions have pretty good footage of the Polo Grounds shuttle in black & white.The other tape has a significant portion devoted to the shuttle, with color film, and also covers the Dyre Ave. Line, late 40s & 50s with el cars, then Hi-V's. I think those who sell these now, have maybe transferred them to DVD. and one or both of these may have been uploaded to youtube as well. |
