Still ... as an engineer myself, something like this should not have happened in the first place. The dimensions of subway cars have never changed since they were purchased, and I'll bet you were around when arnines got cut up to feel their way around for the incoming 44's. I'm not sure if the contractors messed up or the engineering people on the MTA end, but geez ... you're supposed to leave a few extra inches of leeway for bad springs on the trucks at least. |
