That will just never happen. Amtrak & the rest of the world knows in a post 9-11 world that we have to live in, they'll put up with the cattle drive situation if it gives the traveler a minimal sense of security. People will always want trains because they don't want to drive, they don't want to take the Hound & they don't want to fly. Penn Station will always be crowded.

Lets keep it real here. If a few knuckleheads can get to the top of the Brooklyn Bridge & swap flags without being spotted & another troubled citizen can vault a fence outside the White house & make it all the way to the lobby before being stopped, Amtrak security would not be able to stop an individual determined on destruction, no matter how long the "cattle drive" lines are. Point being, If Secret Sservice can be breached, Any security can
