I have often wondered that myself. Could it have been cannibalized for other model boards, or in the grand bureaucratic tradition of this, and all subsequent managing agnencies just plain thrown out?

If it were in storage somewhere or in private hands I'm sure someone in the RF community would know about it.

Also, the porcelaine enamal directional signs that hung from the ceiling, inside the turnstiles in the Mezzanine / fare control area, photo in Kramer's book (my copy is packed away) said something like maybe Eighth Ave. Subway to... or Worlds Fiar railroad to... with the simple pre-war destinations originally mounted on the early IND entrances (like the GG sign on this years subway calendar).

I'd bet that they were trashed immediately after the 1940 season as well (sigh!)
