Unfortunately, on a single track operation, the trains have to depart exactly on time from both ends or the entire overnight operation will be thrown out of sequence. The bi directional running times combined with the short recovery time at both ends leaves absolutely no room for any sort of variation. The normal 36 St shuttle is a different story since it can be held in the event of mainline lateness. |
