The only time I ever recall the Jerome line being threatened to be torn down was in the 80's. Lots of media coverage.According to history, the powers that existed in the Bx at the time were very disenchanted with the Jerome el. Claim good property was wasted. Even back then the avenue was rife with garages and such. But, it did spur growth to the surrounding areas. |
