Anyway, if MARTA were to start a fifth line, I would call it the Pink Line, but not if it serves the gay neighborhoods (where it should be the Brown Line instead), since pink promotes a stereotype that all gay men like the color pink, which is a totally false and harmful stereotype.Brown Line sort of ties into another stereotype about gay men, though... Chicago's Pink Line doesn't go through any particularly gay neighborhoods, but it did debut on the day of the Pride Parade in 2006. |
