Nobody was standing in the single car, even though the Mattituck Strawberry Festival was on. There was a long line for the single working bathroom. The train was delayed. That was due to somebody parking his pickup on the ROW between stations.

All the loading delays I've seen have been for diesel territory. The Montauk Branch usually has loading delays. What did the LIRR expect when ordered a car that holds twice the capacity but has the same number of doors as a single decker. At least NJT's double deckers have twice the number of doors per car.

I see plenty of electric cars in the yards, when I transfer from the diesels to the electrics at either Ronkonkoma or Babylon. There wouldn't be a "car shortage," if those electrics could run all the way out to the East End.

You've noticed a problem - loading delays and reached a conclusion there's a car shortage. The two don't necessarily follow.
