With at least half of all subway or bus riders using the unlimited cards - what is the reason for a change?

The unlimited cards have made many trips feasible that would otherwise have been handled differently, or not made at all.

Since places like Staten Island, only have 3 places on the entire island at which to purchase MetroCards from MetroCard Vending machines. Making the purchase of unlimited cards difficult would not be very useful to most riders.
