A little off this topic but at one time (maybe as late as 1980?) the SI Railway had a connection to the de-electrified north shore freight line which continued to the Arthur Kill lift bridge to New Jersey. I don't know what connections existed in NJ.

When the minor league stadium was built in 2001 I believe it obliterated the one float facility the SIR had.
