As usual, the rush to have the story on-line first meant some facts were garbled.- Worker was ALREADY 100 feet underground (likely working) before accident - pipe fell on him, it broke his leg - he's strapped to medic-evac basket - hoisted up & out of glory hole to waiting ambulance. http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2014/08/20/worker-at-2nd-avenue-subway-site-hoisted-to-safety-after-suffering-injury-underground/ quite a bit less sensational story, but he's alive. |
