Boarding was faster when there were low platforms on the NEC in factFWIW, you can get away with low platforms when you have a small handful of people actually getting on the train. Once you have actual ridership, then level boarding is best. I've seen how this plays out at my cousin's stop, and yes, it takes much longer for everybody to climb onboard into the train versus the level quarter point double with doors of the Metropolitans. |
