How? Is it "regressive" when new light rail is built with low platforms too? Is there a higher population that cannot climb stairs, or is it more expensive to build low-floor EMUs/DMUs and push-pull cars (which it isn't)?

Boarding at low platforms on curves is generally safer than boarding at high platforms on curves as well.
