The sad thing is the MTA did not have the foresight to instead of tearing down the Myrtle El, rebuilding it and after Navy Street have it go underground and join the Montauge Street line at what is now Jay Street-Metrotech (then Lawrence Street) or Court Street that would have allowed that line to go to Manhattan (and also potentially with some track rebuilds allow a Broadway-Brooklyn or even a Canarsie train to access lower Manhattan via a rebuilt section. That's what I would do in a rebuild of that line today. |
