I've heard that Amtrak does not like the MU's on their territory because of the amount of pantographs compared to the one pantograph on the push pull equipment. They prefer less pantographs so there would be less wear and tear on the catenary wires...Obviously, Amtrak never heard of MP-54's. Bill Newkirk |
