Would they have three door sets for boarding Passengers?Thank you for pointing that out. Make that 2 sets of 5 60' cars not 2 sets of 6 50' cars. A 5 car set of 60' cars would be the same length, 300', as a 4 car set of the existing rolling stock. They would be 2 1/2" shorter then the Independent Subway R-9 and have the same number passenger loading doors per side. That would also reduce the number of powered axles with 125 hp DC traction motors to 40 giving the 10 car train a total 5,000 hp. John in the sand box of Maryland's eastern shore. |
