The Archer Ave connection was trickier, because the el rises over the LIRR mainline. To avoid an unecessary hump, about a blocks worth of el had to be replaced with one which was level with the ramp. However, this connection was complete 15 months before the line opened. The ramp was used for layups the entire time. |
