I seem to remember the R-train traveling to 179th Street midnight hours, I think when the 63rd Street line was opened to QueensBridge, but not yet connected to the Queens Blvd line. At that time, I believe that the E-trains were ending at Archer Avenue, and the F-trains were terminating at the Queensbridge Station. A period where the service across the 63rd Street tunnel changed frequently between B, F and Q trains, and between Sixth Avenue or Seventh Avenue. This was during a part of the Manhattan Bridge construction work, with both N and R trains being local in Manhattan and Brooklyn. I just have to find those transit maps! (Smile)Mike |
