I seem to recall reading somewhere, but I can't find it now, that the Independent service cost 10 cents; and that they did more business *from* the Fair than to it. People would go via the I.R.T. or B.-M.T. for 5 cents, but being tired at night, and with the Independent station closer to the evening attractions, they'd pay the extra five cents to go home. |
