The plan, as noted in the article is at first to increase the fleet so as to run more full length trains in rush. IF they can fudge the funding, the option for more cars is supposed to bring the fleet to 1k as opposed to the present 669. Not likely the new cars would be backward compatible to 40yr old and frankly crummy technology. |
