Count me among the ones who don't like it :(

I guess these will be the same as the C/C2 cars--a full-width cab at one end and blind at the other for flexibility.

Seems like BART wants to replace the entire fleet. Obviously, the A and B cars need to go, as they are 40+ years old. The C cars are from 1985, so they are not quite 30, although they will be by 2017, so you could make a case for them going as well. But the C2 cars aren't even 20 years old yet! Seems they would have some life left, but I guess BART just wants to standardize. And the thing is, with BART's wide gauge, there isn't anywhere for those cars to go, probably not even museums as a static display :( Hopefully, BART will keep a historic set (one each of A, B, C and C2) and maybe run excursions, although as a modern agency, I don't know if BART is that into history.

Maybe I can get out to SF for some lat rides. Looks like I'll have a few years.
