Looks like the columns along the platform were constructed in that cylindrical style found in the earliest IRT stations. Do any other local stops along 4th ave. have these kinds of columns? I've ridden
this line but I don't remember.

Also, I've been told, and other people on the board probably have also heard this - that the Myrtle Ave. station tiles (and I'd assume the station name tablets) and still in place on the wall where the former s/b platform existed prior to its removal.

I think it would be a great idea for a preservation project where a segment of this tiled wall could be removed - name tablet, white tiles, and colored tile band at the wall's top, and then installed in the upper concourse of the DeKalb Ave. station, in the same way that the tilework and a name tablet from the IRT's Union Sq./ 14th St. side platform was removed and installed in the upper IRT concourse.
