Go Back through the NTSB archives, as has done the LION, and discover, you will, many accidents where both the conductor and the engineer were asleep.PTC is the best back up there is for human shortcomings, and indeed MTA has already let contracts for a PTC overlay on the MNCR and LIRR railroads.
