How are the switches in 207th St yard controlled? Are switches thrown from the tower or yardmaster's position, or do operators line their own switches with pushbutton controlled power switches? If the former, then how does the yardmaster determine the occupancy of tracks he or she may not be able to see? Are the switches and operation in 207th St yard typical of other NYCT yards?
